My mom and dad got a cute dog today. His name is Freddy and he likes to eat socks and slobber. But is very good and cute. He is a mix of a Shar pei and Labrador (don't try to picture it in your head). He is sooo precious and loves my mommy. He follows her everywhere!
In other news, I have jury duty tomorrow and have to get up early to go do my civic responsibility. Boo! But it's a day off of work so at least there is that.
Chris and I decided against the townhome we were looking at -- mortgages are too much stress with all the family medical drama going on right now and the wedding planning and such. So we rented an apartment. I will move in June 20 and Chris will live at his mom's house until the wedding.
It's a nice little place but I realized this week that I have no furniture and no money. Twill be an adventure! :)

Veronica Mars aired its last episode tonight.
So sad.
Sorry to see this great show go.
I'll post more this weekend on other stuff.
Please post your memorials/comments re:Veronica below.
(Insert sobbing here)

Finally, Julie's stretch of no movies is over! Since my friends used to ask me my movie opinions, I thought I'd post them here for your reading pleasure. Let me know what you thought of the movies.

Spiderman 3 -- though it got bad reviews, I still loved it. Venom was AWESOME. It was a wee bit hokey at moments, but that's how Sam Raimi rolls. Rumor has it he may be directing the upcoming Hobbit movie for New Line.

Disturbia -- I recommend watching Rear Window, the original Hitchcock film, instead. It was good, but lets face it -- people should leave his movies alone and let them stand on their own merits. The best part of this movie, however, was the stellar acting of Carrie Anne Moss (Matrix) and Louis Stevens, I mean Shia LeBouff. Shia will be in Transformers this summer and just got pegged to play Indiana Jones' son in the next movie, due 2008.

HUGE MAY MOVIES:
Next weekend -- 28 Weeks Later -- because British zombies rock!
May 18 -- Shrek the Third
May 25 -- Pirates!

It's going to be a fun May, anything to help pass the time until the wedding.
In other news, I got called for Jury Duty and will have to serve at the end of the month and we are looking at a townhouse to buy. More on that later.

Hey Everyone,
Sorry it's been so long. And sorry to everyone who has been calling me and not been getting a hold of me.
Chris's dad went in the hospital on Easter Sunday, with kidney problem and he had another stroke while in there (his 10th in a little over a year).
He came home last weekend, but on Tuesday morning he woke up with blood every wear, from his bladder.
He was taken back to the hospital, given blood transfusion and is still there. He should be home in the next few days, but with some other complications his wife will have to worry about it. To top it all off, while in the hospital he fell out of bed and broke his shoulder, thankfully on his bad side.
To top it all off, Chris had to have dental surgery on Monday -- three teeth were pulled and one root canal. Not fun.
So needless to say, it's been a bit dramatic, plus with full time jobs, a wedding to plan, a life to plan (still no news on where we will be living).
Life is chaotic so that's why I've been unreachable.
I'm thankful though that I have God on my team and a snuggly fiance, who both help me when times are stressful!

Because I know people are stuffing their faces with candy this weekend, here is a hilarious Web site for you to visit.

So I tried my hand at archery yesterday at the Renaissance Festival, and well, it's not one of my life skills. I paid close attention in Robin Hood and Princess Diaries 2 when they were learning archery, but alas, it did not help. I have a GIANT bruise on my arm (going from my under-elbow to halfway to my wrist).
All in all, the festival was fun. I bought a flowery ring for my head, green, in honor of St. Patty's day and all. I did see a pregnant pirate lady pass out because she was trying to sing in over 100 degree weather. NOT COOL.
Because of the heat situation, we decided against eating any meat products, proven once and for all we are glad we don't live in the renaissance.
My favorite part was the torture museum. Where they showed someone dunking his wife in a well for nagging. And of course the old favorites -- iron maiden and chastity belt.
Great times were had by all, but we are plum tuckered from the event.
Hopefully will have pictures to post soon.

Tagged by Sherry O.-- here are ten random/interesting things about me.

1. I was stung/bitten by a cricket ON MY KNECK yesterday. Yes they bite and yes it was on my kneck. I don't think I shall ever recover.
2. I seem like a free spirit, always late for everything. But when it comes to tasks or projects, I live my life according to deadlines (which is why I love being a reporter). Room cleaning, one hour. House hunting? Okay lets have it done by this date. And when something messes up my deadlines, I freak out.
3. In elementary school my friends called me "Punky Brewster" because I wore my hair in pigtails everyday, had freckles and often wore mismatched socks.
4. I have a Breakfast Club poster in my office at work.
5. Birthday edition: Every year on my birthday I watch the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and wear a new outfit I purchased for myself.
6. Due to a certain someone's request, I still have a mistletoe hanging above my door.
7. My first line in a play was: "Kick a rock as you walk." It was my only line in the show and I shared it with my sister. I think I was in third grade but it was at the local community theater.
8. I'm thinking of taking up photography.
9. My secret (or maybe not so secret wishes): write a book and get it published, live on a mountain (or very high hill), go to London, have babies, own my own movie theater and win an Academy Award or Tony.
10. I work 12-14 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday to meet my deadlines, 8 or 9 on Thursday and hardly any on Mondays and Fridays.

Okay, enough about me. I tag Mandy, Erin, Kara and Fetter.

Sorry it's been so long. I've been very busy, what with the medical problems, my job and the wedding plans. Not to mention the life plans for after we get married! Ack! It's a lot. Plus paying for it all. Not fun.
I've been driving Chris crazy with my wedding plans lately, so I may relax a little bit. I do have a lot done.
I'm trying to get as much done as I can now though because we do have the life plans to deal with, plus all my friends and family will be traveling from out of town and it would be nice to spend some time with them.
I registered us at target, amazon and a honeymoon registry at www.weddingsolutions.com. That way, if people don't want to buy pots and pans, they can still get us something we want, like a fancy dinner on our honeymoon or something. It's pretty cool.
Well, I have to go get ready for church.
How is everyone else doing out there?

I made it through the biopsy, but it was very painful and still is. I'm a little loopy on the tylenol with codeine!
* * *
It's almost 11:30 p.m. Arizona time, which means 1:30 Michigan and Florida time. Everyone I love is asleep, except my dad who is downstairs on his computer.
And I'm so scared!
My biopsy is tomorrow morning. I'm not necessarily scared of the results, more of the giant needle going into VERY unpleasant places and the pain and anxiety that will cause.
And though everyone I love is asleep, I know God isn't.
He's my companion tonight. Because I'm pretty sure I won't be sleeping.
So if you think of me tomorrow, 10:30 AZ time and about 12:30 on the east coast, pray for me.
I'll need it.

Hey everyone, sorry it's been so long. I've been busy with wedding plans and being sickly. For an update on my wedding plans, visit http://brideonabudget.vox.com/.
I have to go to work in a few minutes (yes on a Saturday). I'm going to a meeting at this retirement community. Some of those older people get really fired up and angry at each other. And then they call me to gossip. It's fun.
Well, I'm off. I hope you all have a glorious weekend.

Thank you to everyone for their prayers and well wishes. I am much better this week, though still not totally up to par so continued prayer would be appreciated.

In other news, I now have photos (with my new digital camera, thanks Gomie) on flickr. You can see them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/thecrazybohemian/

Enjoy

Please pray for me.
My medical problem is getting worse and I'm trying to soldier on through life at 1/4 strength.
I have a biopsy scheduled for Jan. 19.

J.K. Rowling
Final 'Harry Potter' Title Announced
Dec 21, 10:55 AM EST

The Associated Press

We now have a title for Book VII: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows."

But if you want to find out for yourself, visit J.K. Rowling's Web site, jkrowling.com, and play a little game of hangman.

Rowling's U.S. publisher, Scholastic, Inc., released a brief statement Thursday announcing the name of the world's most anticipated children's book, the finale to her phenomenally popular fantasy series.

No publication date or other details were offered. Rowling is still working on the book, she wrote on her Web site in an entry posted early Thursday.

"I'm now writing scenes that have been planned, in some cases, for a dozen years or even more," she wrote. "I don't think anyone who has not been in a similar situation can possibly know how this feels: I am alternately elated and overwrought. I both want, and don't want, to finish this book (don't worry, I will.)"

Meanwhile, she set up a little game for her Potter fans.

If you go to her home page, click on the eraser and you will be taken to a room — you'll see a window, a door and a mirror.

In the mirror, you'll see a hallway. Click on the farthest doorknob and look for the Christmas tree. They click on the center of the door next to the mirror and a reef appears. Then click on the top of the mirror and you'll see a garland.

Look for a cobweb next to the door. Click on it, and it will disappear. Now, look at the chimes in the window. Click on the second chime to the right, and hold it down. The chime will turn into the key, which opens the door. Click on the wrapped gift behind the door, then click on it again and figure out the title yourself by playing a game of hangman.

Or you can just take Scholastic's word for it.

Well, my doctor called me today.
And she said. "Well, I don't exactly know what to do with you at this point, I'll have to get back to you."
WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!
I've stumped the medical community! (Sorry to gross any guys out but I've had my period since September. No stopping)
They've tried multiple medicines to stop me, which caused me pain, hormonal surges, etc. And none of them worked.
Now they are talking biopsy.
Nice. Just what I need.
Oh well. I have kind of a peace about it today. I've been in prayer most of the day on this issue and I'm relaxed about it. There's nothing I can do right now to fix it so why stress, you know?
Anywho, that's the scoop. Sorry to gross anyone out.

Today I cried.
A lot.
You know those crazy days when everything seems to set you off and you suddenly remember everything that is upsetting in the world.
Yeah.
That was today.
It's kind of refreshing.
It leaves you broken, empty, ready to begin anew. You give your problems to God in those soul quenching sobs.
And now I feel tired.
Methinks I'll go to sleep now.
Don't everyone read this and think I'm in a fit of depression or anything. I'm fine. Just had one of those hormonal days.

Because of the holidays, we only have to work three days this week and next. I volunteered to work the last half of the week and man the phones so I could have two four-day weekends in a row. So here I am on a monday at home and a little weirded out by it.
Things I did today:
Caught up on some of my MySpace comments.
Laundry.
Watched Judging Amy.
Looked at wedding hair designs.
Negotiated with wedding site.
Helped Dad assemble one of mom's Christmas gifts.
Wrote in this journal.
Up next: clean the bathroom, curl my hair, wait for Christopher to get off work so he can snuggle me! Woot.
Off to the scrub brush!

Sorry it's been so long. Things have been crazy busy here.
First, I'm having undisclosed medical problems that I've been to the doctor for and the medicine they gave me made me worse.
Nice huh?
Anyway, this ailment, which shall not be named, has really impacted my mojo. I've had a rough go getting out of bed every morning.
Chris's grandpa died and we had the funeral and such to deal with. Chris has been working a ton of hours so he is very sleepy. :)
Our wedding plans are going smashingly.
* We went yesterday to tour the wedding site and fell in love with it. It is renaissance. It's small, but it will be really fun. We will have to limit the guest list. So if you don't get an invite, that's why! Sorry. Just kidding, only not really. Here is the Web site for the place: www.thekingscourtyard.com.
It's fabulous
* I picked out a dress. I'm going to have it made by a seamstress. And my bridesmaids too, I think. It will be awesome.
Well, I think that's all the news for now. Don't want to go back to work tomorrow. Sunday nights are lame.

I can't get past the Chemical Zone Level 2 in Sonic 2 for Sega Genesis! I've died like a gagillion times but I know where the extra life is so it's like an endless cycle!
Christopher is sleeping on my fouton while I'm playing video games and typing away here.
Both of us are pretty sick. We caught it from the wee ones in Michigan. And of course for Julie, it turned into the creepy cough once again.
It was a fun trip. It snowed.
Connor still calls me "Uncle" Julie. But boy, he sure did love his Uncle Chris. Connor thought he was way cooler than me. And of course Emmy and I are still best friends.
I'm working really hard this week because of the holiday. Our day to put the paper together is usually Thursday but I will be eating Turkey that day. So we have to cram the extra work into three days. It's cool though. I got a lot done today.
And I have Friday off! My first time in seven years I will have Black Friday off. Can I get an amen!
Oh yeah.
I'm not leaving my house.
Or my P.J.s.
I'm going over to Chris's house for Thanksgiving to help his mom cook.
Everyone pray for me. You know I'm short on the domesticated skills.
Gomie -- thanks for the Turkey day card! :)

Hey everyone, I'm alive. I've been pretty busy lately, what with moving and the like. And today is election day so I'm waiting on some results. Super fun.
